Obammie the Commie
Homeschooling is looking better and better:
OK so it looks like Obama is working to worsen our already fairly communist public education system. For those who may not know, the Federal Government (which includes the Executive Branch) is supposed to have all of jack and squat to do with education. It’s called the 10th Ammendment, and it says, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Education and the power to oversee education were never delegated to the Federal Government, which means that most of what the government has done with education is un-Constitutional.
So what does Obama want to do this time? He wants to meddle with education around the country. The stated purpose is to bring underperforming urban students up to the same level as their suburban peers, and the way to do it is to redistribute wealth and add more Federal oversight.
When I first read this I though, “what an idiot,” which is the first thing that comes to mind every time I read about something Obama has done or said. But, it’s not so much stupid as it is insidious. It’s stupid in terms of making the US a better place, but clever in terms of making the US a more communistic place. Here is how communist leaders think: Inequality among the citizens bothers them, as does citizens having freedom of choice. They want to hammer down all the nails so that all the heads are flat, even if the nails are longer and the board isn’t thick enough. That is their plan for the citizens, but they of course will exempt themselves because the only class division a communist dictator likes is the division between the ruler and the ruled.
So let’s say he brings all the schools down to the level of the ghetto and equilizes everything. Are his kids going to be affected? No. His kids will continue to go to whatever expensive private school they are going to, at tax payer expense, and with armed body guards. He is a flaming elitist hypocrite.

More people are renouncing US citizenship:
Looks like more people than ever before are renouncing their US citizenship because of left wing policies. This is an endictment against the left, and all the entitlement minded takers and government worshipping sycophants. As I said before, the problem with spreading the wealth is that eventually you run out of other people’s wealth to spread. Things cannot continue the way they are going if our country is to survive. It is high production costs that have driven much of our production overseas, which was the backbone of the US economy. Production costs were made high because of unions and taxes.
High taxes cause people to move their business elsewhere, and themselves as well apparently. I told everyone that high taxes are not good for the economy. The higher the taxes the less people businesses can afford to employ. The more businesses that shut down or move overseas the more people we have in the US who will be unemployed and underemployed. Those problems are only compounded by immigration.
“Oh those people are just greedy, we don’t need them anyways.”–OK, if they are greedy for wanting to keep their own money, then what does that make you for wanting to keep your money and for wanting to keep someone else’s money. I think that if we use the same standard of judging greed, then that makes them greedy, and you greedy + parasitic. And yes, we do need them. When they go then jobs go with them. Also, who do you expect to pay your welfare check? Oh yes, and before you say “we will create our own businesses” let me just preempt you by asking why haven’t you already? No one is stopping you. If you have such a natural propensity towards being successful then what is stopping you? Go and do it.
If you look at this chart you can see figures for the rate at which people renounce their citizenship:
Look at how it went up under Obama and the Democrats, and the huge spike in 2011. The spike in 1997 was caused by dual citizens in Hong Kong giving up their US citizenship as Hong Kong reverted to China. The spike in 2011 was caused by Barack Osama.
Now, I can’t help but wonder how this chart would look if they factored in people who were still US citizens but who have moved overseas for work.
I have been toying with that idea myself. Why? Because the US is no longer the land of opportunity, and it is becoming less and less like that progressively. The job market is crap here. No don’t tell me it’s good, because it’s crap. I have two degrees and a 4.0 GPA on the 2nd one, + good references, and still I struggle. So many people are living on a fixed income, while the cost of living goes up.
There are three things that keep me in the US, for now:
1. My family is here.
2. The 1st Ammendment.
3. The 2nd Ammendment.
I would like to point out that reasons 2 and 3 are under heavy attack by the left. Once those go, then the only reason I have to stay is family. But since I am getting married soon, and am a lower income earner, I may be going overseas for work anyways because I want to be able to have kids and a good life. So, let’s see.

While I hate to see good people leave, I can well understand. I wish you well in the future and in having a family wherever you live.
I was a homeschooler with my last 2 children – all their school years, but there was a thing yesterday where some brain decided that we don’t necessarily have the right to homeschool – that the Federal government could disallow it, since we would have plenty of time each day after school to teach our kids at home also. They certainly do know that part of the reason we don’t want to send our kids to government indoctrination centers is because of the things we teach in our homes.
I’d like to homeschool my children.
Where would you like to move abroad?
@quest4god@revelife - Thanks. It will depends upon whether or not I can get a raise, or a new job, which will allow me to support my wife her. If not then I have to go. I don’t want to be a parasite on anyone, and I don’t want to not have kids.
That is really stupid and disgusting, but not at all surprising. They are against homeschool because they ant the state to indoctrinate your kids. These parasites feel a strong compulsion to put themselves in charge of everything.
@Marica0701 - I was thinking I might go work in China, and then retire to Costa Rica. I think about going to India on and off my fiance’s family is there, so it would be possible for me to settle there, but India is so ridiculously crowded. So I think I would probably go to South America somewhere to retire. I don’t really want to go anywhere, but I have to be able to support my family.
I hope you realize that both Democrats and Republicans have meddled with the education system. George Bush’s “No Child Left Behind” springs to mind, and has decimated learning standards since it was implemented.
Home schooling is just as dangerous, if not more so than public or private education. While I respect that parents have the right to influence their children the way they see fit, it’s also a slippery path to giving certain biases and perceptions that aren’t grounded in objectivity. Whatever happens, I despair for current children and future generations as the more I hear about schooling – be it at home or in public – the more I grow concerned about the ability for people to think critically. This applies to both ends of the political spectrum, and education is one area that I think should be apolitical.
@cmdr_keen - Yes NCLB was a huge blunder, and also un-Constitutional, but so is this plan of Obungle’s, and Obungle is here now.
Much of what they teach in public education is hardly grounded in objectivity. First of all there is the evolutionism. Now, I have nothing against people believing in evolution if they want to, and I have nothing against it being taught in private schools for people who lean that way, but I don’t want it being forcefed to my kids as if it were a fact when they are young and impressionable. I also don’t want them being forcefed homosexuality, or white guilt, or socialism, or pro-statist propaganda in general. I also don’t want my kids getting sex-ed classes either, which really just encourages kids to go out and have sex. Maybe I will put them in Public Education when they are older, but during Elementary age I definitely don’t want it.
“Whatever happens, I despair for current children and future generations as the more I hear about schooling – be it at home or in public – the more I grow concerned about the ability for people to think critically.”–That is fair to say, and I pretty much agree with you there. Another problem is that we are feeling the effects of the dysgenics program our government is running. More and more. As time goes on the average person is probably going to be less intelligent rather than moreso.
@Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex -
I highlighted the NCLB as evidence that education is mis-managed by both sides of the aisle.
As for sex-ed: I have to disagree. Study after study and experience after experience shows that the more age-appropriate information is shared, the higher the age of first sexual contact and the lower the teen pregnancy rate is.
A delicate balance has to be made between shielding children from things we don’t want them to know, and brain-washing them into a certain point of view: I believe that they should have the information made apparent to them and allow them to form their own opinions.
Anything else and we become dictators ourselves.
“Obammie” rhymes with Mammy. That makes you a racist.
@cmdr_keen - Oh I never said the Republicans were innocent. If you notice I have been critical of them as well, although in their case it mostly has to do with them going along with the Democrats.
This is where we disagree. I never had sex-ed, but I managed to make it to 31 with having sex. My brother didn’t get anyone pregnant until well after he got married, and my sisters never got pregnant. One is still in high school, and the other is in college. Neither of them have had sex yet either. I don’t like the sex-ed stuff because it condones sex before marriage. I intend to raise my kids the way I was raised, and condemn sex before marriage. The Bible says to raise up a child in the way that he should go, which means that they get a Biblical upbringing, and the main goal is to pass on my beliefs and values. I don’t believe that all beliefs are equally valid or true, so I don’t intend to take a neutral position on any issue. That being said, I do intend to teach them about other belief systems but not with the intent of letting them choose what they want to believe, but mainly to equip them for dealing with the world. I don’t believe in giving kids freedom of choice. Kids should do what their parents tell them to do.
@PlatotheSmurf - And I’m also drinking water right now so that makes it even worse.
@Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex - You are so right! Drinking water can ruin your career and your life.
@PlatotheSmurf - Not to mention it’s greedy. Our bodies are already something like 90% water. How much more water do we really need? At some point the insanity has to stop.
Schools should be privatized. If I chose to have children they would be home-schooled.
@DrummingMediocrity - Yes they should. Then we could do away with property taxes, and money from hard working Americans wouldn’t be going to give illegal aliens free education.
If I’m still in the US when I have kids, then I want to be near my parents so that my mom can educate the kids. Probably my wife and I will have to both work, but my mom is home all the time because my dad makes good money. My mom homeschooled us when we were kids, so I know she can do it.
@Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex -
Most of your positions are reasonable and personal, so I can’t disagree with you there. However, this line – “Kids should do what their parents tell them to do” – is one I take issue with.
Only a couple of comments earlier we agreed that critical thinking is a much-maligned skill and is not taught as it should be in the current education system.
What you’re proposing with your kids – as much as that’s fine, they’re yours – is the antithesis of critical thinking.
You’ll turn them into the sheep you so despise.
@cmdr_keen - Well let me put it this way. If I tell them they can’t wear a particular outfit to school, they aren’t wearing it. If I tell them to go mow the lawn or do the dishes, then it’s not up for debate, they had better go and do it. The thing is, kids aren’t born having any kind of sense. Every once in a while I read articles about liberals who don’t want to tell their kids anything, and sometimes the boys end up wearing dresses. Also, one of the reasons why ghetto kids are so bad is because there is no father figure in the house. When kids are little you have to give them boundaries until they have some sense of their own. As they get older you can let up.
As for personal beliefs, it is my duty to pass those on. I would sooner not have kids than fail in that regard. Of course they also have to get evidence and logical support for all the positions, but I don’t intend to present my beliefs and positions as if all beliefs are equally valid.
