  • Nanny State

I’m sick of all this nanny state crap.  Anyone who would give up freedom for security doesn’t deserve to have either.

Taking guns isn’t enough, now they also want to come after our videogames.

  • Reckon Americans just enjoy spankings, huh?

  • It’s not guns and video games.

    It’s freedom they’re after.

  • @Kellsbella - And taking it up the rear without vasoline apparently.  At least about 40% do.

  • @grim_truth - Yea, they seem to have something against the 1st and 2nd ammendment, which were created to prevent exactly the sort of things that are happening now.

  • @Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex - Are you talking dirty to me?

  • @Kellsbella - Well, I’m talking about them, but since I’m talking to you bout them then maybe.  Sorry if that comes across as offensive.  I have been watching a lot of ET Williams and he says stuff like that all the time.

  • @Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex - My comment was made in humour. But because you and J. are both naughty boys, I have reblogged a post from another site here. I believe you’ll both enjoy it…..without vaseline.

  • Yes, God forbid they come after the “bread and circuses”, think folks would wake up then?  Take my freedom and my guns, but not my games…..

  • @Kellsbella - Haha, OK.  Checking it out right now.

  • @Newshoundfortruth - Not sure I understand your comment.  Are you implying that I said it was OK for them to come after anything?

  • @Ambrosius_Augustus_Rex - Wait! Stop the Presses! I’ve found the perfect solution! We take away guns, fast food, and video games. The world will assurredly be a more happier place……um, are you poppin by the Taco Hell for the nachos I was cravin?

  • It just sounded like you were more upset when they might have some influence over video games and that is how most people will be.  They get more upset about what they want being taken away instead of the law (Constitution) being broken.  I don’t think you think it is ok for any of those things.  Just comparing us to Rome.  People are sheep….

  • @Kellsbella - Or better yet, they could just ban free will and then they wouldnt have to ban anything else.  You know what’s funny/irritating is how the liberals are always blaming guns for crime, or trying to, but they never bother to look into what drugs the shooters were taking.  Maybe not all of those medications are good or safe?

  • @Newshoundfortruth - I believe I have spoken more on gun control more than videogames over the years, but I hate the whole nanny state mentality. I don’t recognize that anyone in the government has the authority to tell me what is good for me.  Especially not the current regime which is the most corrupt and vile regime we have ever had, and one of the most corrupt and vile regimes the world has ever known.

If you want to compare the US to Rome the analogy goes a good deal further than that.  The economic and social decay is analogous to what happened during the late Imperial period, as is the military weakening combined with low birthrates and immigration.  In our case you can substitute Mexicans for Visigoths or Germanic tribes.  The Mexicans are to us what the Visigoths, Ostrogoths, Lombards, and Vandals were to Rome.  Eventually those people were the death of Rome, but at least later they were able to build new civilizations.  I can’t see the Mexicans ever doing that.
